The scope of practice for Clinical Dental Technicians currently requires that dentate patients have recently been seen by a dentist. A referral by a dentist is required before I can supply partial dentures. If a dentate patient attends my clinic I will advise that a referral is required and provide a referral form for them to take to their own dentist. Patients who are not currently registered with a dentist will be referred to a local dentist with whom I have made arrangements.
